Senior Data Engineer
Job Summary
Hands-on and detail-oriented, the full-time Senior Data Engineer will design, optimize, and govern a Databricks-based data platform, focusing on ETL/ELT pipelines, data governance, and ML/AI enablement in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and optimize production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines across the medallion architecture using Databricks technologies
- Administer Unity Catalog for data governance and implement data quality practices across pipelines
- Evaluate and productionize Databricks-native AI/ML capabilities, collaborating with data science stakeholders
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, statistics, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of experience as a data engineer, with 3+ years in architecting and operating production workloads on Databricks
- Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and access control best practices
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD automation
- Demonstrated experience owning a lakehouse/medallion architecture at scale, including data modeling for BI consumption
