Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Data Engineer, Health & Bioinformatics.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and implement data systems to support ML and AI models for health insurance clients while ensuring compliance with healthcare data privacy regulations
• Develop tools for extracting, processing, and profiling diverse healthcare data sources, including EHRs and genomic data
• Collaborate with data scientists to transform health-related and bioinformatics data into modeling-ready formats, ensuring data quality and integrity

Required Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative discipline with 7+ years of experience in health-related data
• Subject matter expertise in health and bioinformatics data, with a strong understanding of processing medical information
• Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7) and healthcare data privacy regulations (HIPAA)
• Proficiency in Python and SQL in a professional setting
• Hands-on experience with big data tools like Apache Spark, DataBricks, or Snowflake
