Senior Data Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the engineering of a Snowflake data platform, the full-time Senior Data Platform Engineer will translate architectural direction into a production-grade environment that supports analytics and AI/ML workloads, working remotely from Canada or the USA.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain Snowflake account, warehouse, and object architecture, implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
• Enforce security and governance by building role hierarchies, implementing masking policies, and integrating with identity providers
• Manage data ingestion and integration pipelines, ensuring reliability and performance through tools like Snowpipe and Kafka Connect

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data platform or data engineering roles
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake at production scale
• Expertise in Snowflake RBAC design, performance tuning, and security features
• Proficient in SQL and Python for tooling and automation
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools, specifically Terraform
