Senior Data Science Engineer

Job Summary

To support the mission of simplifying healthcare finance, the full-time Senior Data Science Engineer will manage the data lifecycle of healthcare claims data, including building reliable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and implementing privacy measures, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines that process raw claims data into enriched formats using tools such as Python, SQL, and AWS services
• Implement automated monitoring for data quality and produce privacy-preserving datasets by adhering to de-identification specifications
• Draft technical documentation and seek feedback from internal customers to iterate on data solutions effectively

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; non-traditional backgrounds are welcome
• 4+ years of experience in developing data models and end-to-end analytical solutions
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with advanced skills in SQL performance tuning and data modeling
• Experience with healthcare claims data and ETL/ELT workflows, including orchestration tools like Airflow
• Ability to design scalable and efficient data systems for compute-intensive workloads
