Senior Data Science Manager

Job Summary

Experienced data science leaders will find a full-time remote opportunity as a Senior Data Science Manager, responsible for owning high-impact data science projects, managing a lean team, and collaborating across the company to enhance the chess experience through innovative algorithms and models.

Key responsibilities

• Own and develop algorithms and models that shape user engagement and protect game integrity
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers to translate data insights into actionable product features
• Manage and mentor a team of data scientists, setting clear objectives and fostering their professional growth

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of data science experience with a proven track record in developing algorithms and driving user value
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in data pipelines using BigQuery and GCP or similar
• Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals applicable to fair play and chess-related features
• Proven ability to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in managing or mentoring data scientists or analysts
