Senior Data Scientist

Job Summary

To support R&D efforts in bio-polymers and sustainable materials, the full-time salaried Senior Data Scientist will analyze experimental data, develop predictive models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while working remotely with some travel as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with polymer scientists and engineers to utilize data-driven methods in bio-polymer research and development
• Analyze and model experimental data to identify structure-property-process relationships and optimize material performance
• Design experiments and build reproducible data workflows for R&D data ingestion, cleaning, and analysis

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; Master's or PhD preferred
• 10+ years of professional experience in data science or scientific computing, preferably in materials science or polymer R&D
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and modeling
• Solid experience with SQL and working with structured and semi-structured datasets
• Demonstrated experience applying machine learning to real-world scientific data
