Senior Data Scientist

Job Summary

Partnering with cross-functional teams, the full-time Senior Data Scientist will build the analytical foundation for Thumbtack's lifecycle strategy, focusing on measurement frameworks, data infrastructure, and insights to drive engagement for both homeowners and professionals in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Build the Lifecycle measurement framework and define health metrics for homeowners and pros
• Synthesize evidence across data sources to provide insights that influence senior leaders' strategies
• Lead long-term analytical initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product roadmap decisions

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Math, Economics, Computer Science, or a related STEM field
• 5+ years of experience in an analytical role with strong proficiency in SQL and Python
• Proven track record of leading ambiguous analytical initiatives with measurable business impact
• Deep expertise in experimental design, causal inference, and statistical methods
• Experience building data products or analytical frameworks that scale beyond immediate teams
