Senior Data Scientist
Job Summary
To support R&D efforts in bio-polymers and sustainable materials, the full-time salaried Senior Data Scientist will utilize advanced data science, statistical modeling, and machine learning to analyze experimental and process data, while working remotely with some travel as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with polymer scientists and engineers to support bio-polymer research using data-driven methods
- Analyze and model experimental data to identify structure-property-process relationships and develop predictive models for material performance
- Design and analyze experiments to maximize learning efficiency and build reproducible data workflows for R&D data management
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; Master's or PhD preferred
- 10+ years of professional experience in data science or applied analytics, with a preference for materials science or polymer R&D data
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and modeling
- Solid experience with SQL and handling structured and semi-structured datasets
- Demonstrated experience applying machine learning to real-world scientific data
