Job Summary
Leading technical support activities, the full-time Senior Data Scientist will empower Veterans Health Administration staff to utilize AI and machine learning solutions in a federal healthcare environment, focusing on the development and analysis of healthcare-specific data models.
Key responsibilities
- Guide the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and AI-driven solutions for VHA AI Citizen Developers
- Apply advanced ML techniques to build and validate predictive models tailored to healthcare use cases
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret analytical results and translate findings into strategic recommendations
Required qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in data science or applied machine learning, preferably in healthcare or life sciences
- Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; PhD preferred
- Experience working with federal agencies, especially the Department of Veterans Affairs or similar healthcare clients
- Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Position of Public Trust or equivalent federal security clearance
- Demonstrated experience with healthcare-specific data models and familiarity with clinical data standards
