Senior Data Scientist - Insurance

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Senior Data Scientist - Insurance with hands-on experience in P&C or Pet Insurance pricing to lead pricing model development, drive analytical best practices, and serve as a subject matter expert in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, refine, and maintain GLM-based pricing models for rate setting and performance forecasting
• Manage a portfolio of 2-4 active projects, driving them independently from scoping to completion
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and translate complex findings into actionable insights for leadership

Required qualifications

• Graduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field and 2+ years of experience in a data science role, or 4+ years of progressive experience in analytics
• At least 1 year of experience in P&C or Pet Insurance pricing, including rate modeling and GLMs
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis
• Deep understanding of GLMs, regression modeling, and statistical inference
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
