Senior Data Scientist (Public Trust)

Job Summary

To support the SBA OIG Technology Solutions Division, the remote Senior Data Scientist (Public Trust) will design and implement advanced fraud identification models, collaborate with criminal investigators, and utilize natural language processing to analyze large datasets, with occasional travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, test, and deploy machine learning models for fraud detection and compliance
• Collaborate with criminal investigators to adapt analyses for active cases while adhering to federal regulations
• Scale NLP methods to analyze unstructured text data and create visualizations to present findings

Required Qualifications:

• Master's, Ph.D., or equivalent degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field, or 10 years of relevant experience
• 5+ years of experience in developing advanced AI systems and predictive models
• 3+ years of experience providing data support for criminal investigations into fraud or abuse
• 2+ years of experience in advanced SQL data analysis and developing NLP solutions
• Proficiency in Python, particularly with Pandas, and experience in modern cloud environments (Azure preferred)
