Senior Data Security Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance data security practices, the contract Senior Data Security Engineer will design, implement, and operate data security capabilities for protecting sensitive data, including PII and PHI, across cloud platforms, while collaborating with various teams to ensure effective data governance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and operate Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) capabilities to assess and improve the security posture of sensitive data assets
• Build and maintain data discovery and scanning pipelines to identify sensitive data across various systems
• Develop data classification policies and controls to ensure consistent handling of sensitive data in compliance with regulations

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Security Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field, with at least 2 years focused on data security or DSPM
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Postgres, Snowflake, and AWS S3
• Familiarity with data discovery, classification, and cataloging tools
• Understanding of regulatory requirements related to healthcare data and privacy, including HIPAA
• Proficiency in Python or another scripting/programming language for automation
