Senior Data Visualization Designer

Job Summary

Creating engaging visual narratives, the remote Senior Data Visualization Designer will transform complex datasets into intuitive charts, graphics, and interactive experiences, collaborating with journalists and researchers to enhance consumer understanding of product testing and safety investigations.

Key responsibilities

• Create visual designs such as charts, graphs, and interactives for digital products, ensuring alignment with UX strategy
• Partner with the content team to develop design approaches that enhance storytelling and pitch concepts aligned with brand voice
• Analyze and interpret data to produce visual designs that facilitate reader understanding and create compelling visual storytelling

Required qualifications

• BS in design, computer science, or a related discipline
• At least 7 years of professional design experience for an information-driven digital publication
• Proficiency in coding to translate designs into functional HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Strong portfolio showcasing visual and graphic design skills, particularly in data visualization
• Understanding of basic data analysis to interpret raw data and identify trends for visualization
