Job Summary
Owning the performance, reliability, security, and recoverability of a high-traffic PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server cloud environment, the full-time Senior Database Administrator will manage production performance, diagnose and resolve database issues, and design high availability and disaster recovery strategies in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Own production performance across PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server
- Diagnose and resolve execution plan, indexing, locking, blocking, and query performance issues
- Design and operate high availability, replication, failover, and disaster recovery strategies
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years administering production databases
- Expert PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server administration
- Advanced SQL, T-SQL, and PL/pgSQL skills
- Proven experience leading zero-downtime production migrations
- Strong expertise in HA/DR, replication, backup, and recovery
