Senior Database Administrator

Job Summary

Seeking a remote, full-time Senior Database Administrator to manage the full lifecycle of enterprise databases for the United States Coast Guard, focusing on database design, implementation, tuning, security, and compliance in a high-availability environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise relational databases, ensuring performance and data integrity
• Lead the design and implementation of database models and optimize performance through tuning and indexing strategies
• Implement database security controls and ensure compliance with federal security standards and policies

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Computer Science, Math, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of five years of experience in database administration, specifically with Oracle, Ingres, and Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket for DevSecOps integration
• Proficient in writing complex SQL queries and performing security remediation based on vulnerability scans
• U.S. citizenship required with eligibility for a Position of Public Trust or DoD Secret Clearance
