Job Summary
Providing database administration for RDS MySQL and PostgreSQL in an AWS Cloud environment, the full-time Senior Database Administrator will manage installations, configurations, and performance tuning while ensuring compliance with security protocols and backup strategies.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain database instances, managing RDS Parameter Groups and coordinating engine upgrades
- Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring compliance with backup strategies and security protocols
- Provide customer support to database and application development teams, offering impact analysis on proposed changes
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT field
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
- Expertise in MySQL and/or PostgreSQL administration in an enterprise environment
- Significant experience with Amazon RDS or Aurora managed services
- Deep understanding of Linux-based database environments and open-source database internals
