Senior Database Administrator

Job Summary

Supporting a mission-critical federal government client, the full-time Senior ASE Database Administrator will manage and administer ASE and PostgreSQL database platforms, including those hosted in AWS environments, while ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting database issues remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support ASE and PostgreSQL databases, including setup, configuration, tuning, and monitoring
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and execute architecture plans for database migration and improvements
• Provide client support for test and production systems, resolving performance and application development problems

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Sybase RDBMS technology stack and database management
• 3+ years of experience in general database administration tasks for PostgreSQL, including architecture and schema design
• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Working knowledge of AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts, including Terraform
• Experience with Python, T-SQL, or other scripting languages
