Senior Database Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the performance and reliability of a high-volume Microsoft SQL Server environment, the full-time Senior Database Performance Engineer will manage observability and monitoring, incident response, and performance engineering efforts while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a comprehensive monitoring platform, defining alerting protocols and performance baselines
• Lead incident triage and root-cause analysis, ensuring permanent resolutions and maintaining operational runbooks
• Diagnose and optimize resource-consuming queries, manage index strategies, and oversee core production operations

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience administering and tuning Microsoft SQL Server in production environments
• Expertise in execution-plan analysis, query rewriting, and performance tuning techniques
• Hands-on experience with wait statistics, Query Store, and Extended Events
• Proven incident management skills and experience in root-cause analysis
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL and automation scripting
