Senior Database Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in the United States, the full-time Senior Database Engineer will evaluate and improve database architectures, manage database performance, and support engineering teams by addressing production issues while utilizing cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate current database architectures and suggest improvements for performance and availability
• Support the engineering organization by responding to database outages and implementing changes to enhance database performance
• Manage replication between databases and design architecture to support business continuity and automated deployment

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Database Engineering experience, preferably with Postgres
• 5+ years of experience working within an AWS or GCP cloud environment
• 3+ years of high-level programming experience in Python or Go
• Strong experience with Kubernetes in production environments
• Experience building infrastructure as code using Terraform
