Senior Database Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Senior Database Engineer who will manage production database troubleshooting, incident root cause analysis, and observability tooling development while working in a flexible or remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Become a subject matter expert in production database troubleshooting and performance analysis
• Own complex incident root cause analysis across multi-tenant PostgreSQL/MariaDB fleets
• Develop automation and tooling to prevent recurrence of critical issues and influence infrastructure decisions

Required qualifications

• 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience in database engineering
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL, including advanced query performance tuning and transaction management
• Experience supporting large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS, PaaS, or cloud infrastructure platforms
• Strong Unix/Linux skills with hands-on expertise in diagnosing OS-level issues
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
