Senior Database Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a highly-technical Senior Database Engineer for a full-time remote position, responsible for maintaining and automating large-scale database systems, developing infrastructure services, and troubleshooting production issues in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and automate properly configured clusters for data components such as Cassandra, ElasticSearch, and Kafka
• Develop infrastructure services to support a full devops model for the engineering team
• Collaborate with Engineering and Customer Support to resolve time-sensitive production issues

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Salt, Kubernetes) and/or strong Ruby skills
• Proficiency in large-scale datastores including Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kafka, and MySQL
• Experience operating within cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or OCI
• Proven ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams
