Senior DataOps Engineer

Job Summary

Combining deep database administration expertise with cloud data platform skills, the full-time Senior DataOps Engineer will manage the full data operations stack, including SQL Managed Instance performance troubleshooting and Azure Data Factory pipeline monitoring, while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of Azure SQL Managed Instance environments, including performance monitoring and troubleshooting
• Monitor and triage Azure Data Factory pipeline runs, understanding ETL dependencies and troubleshooting integration failures
• Continuously identify manual operational tasks across the data stack and implement automation solutions to eliminate them

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as a DBA, DataOps Engineer, or Platform/Site Reliability Engineer with a strong data focus
• Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including SQL Managed Instance and Azure Data Factory
• Strong MSSQL administration background, including performance tuning and SQL Agent job management
• Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell and/or Python for operational automation
• Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines for data platform and infrastructure deployments
