Senior Designer, Children's Publishing

Job Summary

Leading the design and production of the Who HQ series, the full-time Senior Designer, Children's Publishing will oversee cover and interior art for 30-40 new titles annually, collaborating with editorial and freelance artists in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Art directing and designing covers and interiors for new titles in the Who HQ series
• Collaborating with the Associate Publisher, designers, and editorial staff to ensure quality and adherence to brand guidelines
• Hiring and directing illustrators while managing production schedules and approvals

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of design experience in publishing, preferably in children's publishing
• A portfolio demonstrating skills in illustration, book design, and typography
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
• Knowledge of pre-press and printing processes is a plus
