Senior Developmental Editor

Job Summary

Serving as the editorial lead, the full-time Senior Developmental Editor will perform developmental edits on multiple book projects, ensuring editorial excellence while collaborating with authors and industry professionals in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Organizes and manages the editorial process for at least fifty book projects annually, ensuring adherence to timelines and project goals
• Collaborates with authors and external vendors, maintaining clear communication to protect project scope, budget, and schedule
• Completes line edits and final content reviews for quality assurance, providing project status updates to internal stakeholders

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in written content editorial, preferably in business-related categories
• Fluency in The Chicago Manual of Style and familiarity with industry-standard publishing tools
• Proven project management experience with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong background in nonfiction publishing, particularly in business, finance, and self-help genres
