Senior Director of Accounting

Job Summary

Leading the accounting, financial reporting, and analysis functions, the full-time remote Senior Director of Accounting will oversee financial statements, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and support strategic initiatives across domestic and international lines of business.

Key responsibilities

• Directs the preparation and review of financial statements while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting guidance
• Acts as the primary contact for finance teams, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of accounting results
• Monitors financial risks and implements internal controls, collaborating with internal and external auditors

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 additional years in a relevant functional area
• At least 6 years of management experience, including hiring and performance management of direct reports
• In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the NAIC's Model Audit Rule (MAR)
• Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple large projects
• Proven ability to influence senior management and stakeholders effectively
