Senior Director of Clinical Development

Job Summary

Serving as a key clinical leader for AL137, the full-time Senior Director of Clinical Development will provide medical leadership for Phase 1 clinical trials, driving the clinical development strategy and ensuring rigorous, patient-centered decisions while working collaboratively across various functions in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the clinical development strategy for AL137, integrating emerging data into decision-making for Phase 1 and later-stage development
• Provide medical leadership for protocol design and execution, including safety considerations and clinical data interpretation
• Act as the internal physician expert for AL137, building relationships with investigators and regulatory authorities while communicating clinical insights to senior leadership

Required qualifications

• M.D. (preferred) or Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Neurobiology, or a related field
• 10+ years of clinical development experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals, specifically in neurodegenerative diseases
• Strong knowledge of clinical trial design, medical monitoring, and regulatory requirements
• Experience with first-in-human and Phase 1 and 2 studies, including dose escalation and safety data interpretation
• Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership and translate complex information into actionable recommendations
