Senior Director of Data Engineering

Job Summary

Leading a team of approximately 35 engineers, the full-time Senior Director of Data Engineering will manage the development of Cedar's enterprise data platform and integration systems while ensuring operational excellence and delivery predictability in a dynamic remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain processes for three parallel workstreams, ensuring timely and high-quality deliveries
• Develop engineering managers and foster high-performing teams to enhance organizational health and culture
• Oversee the reliability and performance of integration systems, focusing on reducing incident rates and improving operational quality

Required qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering or technical implementation, with experience in data-intensive and integration-heavy domains
• 8+ years in engineering leadership, including 4+ years managing managers and overseeing a team of 30+ engineers
• Solid technical grounding in integration systems and data, with the ability to engage in architectural discussions
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and create structure from chaos
• Experience managing SLAs and incident management, with a focus on operational excellence
