Senior Director of Embedded Engineering

Job Summary

Leading a high-performing team of firmware and embedded Linux engineers, the full-time Senior Director of Embedded Engineering will oversee the development of software for Vivint's smart home devices, manage technical strategy, and collaborate on product initiatives in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering teams to foster a culture of excellence and reliability
• Own the multi-year technical roadmap for the embedded software platform, ensuring scalability and security
• Collaborate with Hardware Engineering to drive hardware-software integration for new product introductions

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of embedded software engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles
• Deep expertise in camera and video systems, including image signal processing
• Hands-on experience with firmware development and embedded Linux
• Proven ability to define and execute multi-year embedded platform roadmaps
• B.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
