Senior Director of Engineering

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Sr. Director of Engineering to lead the development of distributed SQL database systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical roadmap and architecture for core database components
• Own the end-to-end development, quality, performance, and operational excellence of engineering teams' components
• Recruit, mentor, and manage high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software development experience, with at least 3+ years in a Director/Sr. Director role
• Substantial experience in designing and developing core components of production-grade relational or distributed database engines
• Proven ability to design and deliver highly available, multi-tenant distributed systems
• Hands-on experience in systems programming languages, particularly C/C++ and Go
• Direct experience resolving performance bottlenecks and re-architecting systems for massive scaling
