Senior Director of Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the modernization and scaling of technology for sales and client teams, the remote Senior Director of Engineering will manage architecture, AI integration, and mobile solutions while ensuring operational excellence across all Optum lines of business.

Key responsibilities:

• Serve as the senior engineering authority for growth, sales, and client experience platforms, making all technical decisions
• Own and execute the roadmap for AI modernization across sales and client workflows, designing role-based digital assistants
• Lead the design and engineering of mobile-first experiences that enhance daily work for sales and client stakeholders

Required qualifications:

• 12+ years of progressive software engineering experience
• 8+ years as an engineering leader responsible for architecture and delivery of complex, enterprise-scale platforms
• 5+ years of experience building AI solutions, including agents within Salesforce
• 3+ years of Salesforce engineering experience, including mobile and integrations
• Strong grounding in distributed systems, API design, cloud-native architectures, and mobile engineering
