Senior Director of External Relations

Job Summary

To support a growing nonprofit focused on civic engagement, the full-time Senior Director of External Relations will lead external relations strategy, manage media relations, and cultivate strategic partnerships while working remotely from anywhere in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an integrated external relations strategy that aligns communications, thought leadership, and partnerships
• Oversee media relations efforts and increase awareness and influence for the organization and its initiatives
• Build and manage high-value relationships with leaders and organizations across various sectors to advance organizational priorities

Required qualifications

• 8-12+ years of experience in external relations, strategic communications, or related fields
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing communications and public engagement strategies
• Experience building and managing senior-level relationships across sectors
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25%
