Senior Director of Liability Claims

Job Summary

Directing the investigation and management of liability claims, the full-time Senior Director of Liability Claims will focus on reducing financial risk through effective resolution strategies, while providing legal consultation and guidance to departmental staff in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze claims information and recommend defense and resolution strategies to management
• Provide counsel on liability claims to field employees and develop defense strategies with outside counsel
• Negotiate settlements with plaintiffs and attend mediations and trials to ensure favorable case resolutions

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree or 5 years of experience in a professional liability claims setting
• 3 years of experience in medical malpractice claim management, negotiations, or civil litigation
• Strong negotiation and litigation skills
• Ability to counsel on medical malpractice and claims management
• Proficient in legal research and decision-making
