Senior Director of Platform Engineering

Job Summary

Leading a multidisciplinary organization, the full-time Senior Director of Platform Engineering will own the cloud infrastructure and developer experience at Altana, driving the technical strategy and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of platforms while fostering an AI-first development approach in a remote-friendly environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi-year technical strategy for Platform Engineering, focusing on scalability, performance, and security
• Drive Developer Acceleration by improving workflows and integrating AI-assisted development tools into the software development lifecycle
• Establish best practices for operational excellence, ensuring high availability and performance across production environments

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in platform engineering or developer experience organizations, with a proven track record of enhancing developer productivity
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows and CI/CD systems in a large-scale environment
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar)
• Experience managing and scaling engineering teams across multiple time zones
• Strong understanding of large-scale infrastructure supporting ML/AI-enabled products and services
