Senior Director of R&D PMO

Job Summary

To lead the enterprise program management office and enhance innovation execution, the full-time salaried Senior Director of R&D PMO will establish a robust operating model for portfolio governance and resource allocation while collaborating with executive leaders to translate strategy into actionable initiatives in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and improve the R&D PMO operating model, focusing on portfolio governance and program management capabilities
• Create and maintain an enterprise view of the strategic portfolio, ensuring transparency in initiative ownership and outcomes
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to facilitate decision-making on prioritization, investment, and risk management

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, operations, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in portfolio and program management, including 7+ years in leading complex cross-functional programs
• Experience in building or transforming a PMO and improving portfolio decisions and delivery performance
• Deep expertise in needs-driven innovation methods and formal Biodesign training is preferred
• Knowledge of portfolio management, stage-gate governance, and risk management; relevant certifications are preferred
