Senior Director of User Experience

Job Summary

Leading a global design organization, the full-time Senior Director of User Experience will evolve design strategy for AI-powered products, manage multiple design teams, and ensure user-centered outcomes while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Evolve the design vision and strategy for AI-powered and agentic experiences across Alteryx's product portfolio
• Build and run the operating model for a 30-person globally distributed design organization, including staffing and design-ops processes
• Directly manage design leaders, fostering a culture of critique and high craft standards while advocating for design careers within the organization

Required qualifications

• 15+ years in product design, with at least 6+ years in leadership roles managing design teams in a SaaS or enterprise software environment
• Experience leading multiple design teams across a complex product portfolio, particularly with data-heavy products
• Demonstrated ability to shape design strategy and provide hands-on design feedback across all levels of the organization
• Proven experience in building and running design operations at scale, including resourcing models and metrics
• Strong cultural fluency and experience managing distributed teams across different time zones
