Senior Disability Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Disability Underwriter.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate risks and determine insurability and premium classification for individual disability cases
• Communicate and negotiate with field force and home office personnel to acquire necessary information and convey decisions
• Collaborate with adjacent departments and participate in ongoing training to enhance customer service and underwriting processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and industry-related education (e.g., LOMA, ALU, CLU) desired
• Experience in Individual Disability Underwriting preferred
• Knowledge of individual disability insurance products and processes
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and financial documents
• General computer proficiency required
