Senior Drilling Engineer

Job Summary

As the technical lead for drilling engineering on multiple concurrent projects, the full-time Senior Drilling Engineer will design, plan, and oversee drilling programs globally, ensuring safe and efficient data collection while collaborating closely with various science teams in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and planning of complex exploration drilling programs, including hole design and drilling method selection
• Provide technical oversight during drilling operations, ensuring adherence to safety standards and data collection objectives
• Conduct post-program reviews and contribute to the development of drilling engineering standards and best practices

Required qualifications

• Undergraduate or Master's degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Civil, Geological, or Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience
• Advanced knowledge of drilling techniques, particularly diamond core drilling operations across various geographies and commodities
• Proficiency in hole design and analysis software tools
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, including RFP development and contract administration
• Valid First Aid Certification (Level 3 or Wilderness First Aid preferred) and ability to work in remote locations
