Senior E and S Underwriter

Job Summary

To support the Surplus Lines division, the full-time Senior E&S Underwriter will evaluate and determine the acceptability, pricing, and coverage of complex risks while working in a hybrid environment based in Sarasota, FL.

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop new classes of business, assessing market viability and suggesting endorsements and rate changes
• Review individual risks submitted by agents to determine acceptability and develop appropriate insurance contract terms
• Achieve production and loss ratio goals through effective book management and marketing strategies

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum of four years of Excess & Surplus Lines casualty underwriting experience
• Advanced knowledge of market conditions, trends, and competitor offerings
• Proficiency in risk assessment, pricing, and negotiation within established guidelines
• Valid driver's license
