Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Earth Observation Scientist to lead the development of machine learning models for wildfire risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop machine learning models related to wildfire and forest fires using Earth Observation data
• Utilize advanced remote sensing techniques to analyze multispectral time-series and synthetic aperture radar data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on research projects addressing environmental challenges

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, Physical Geography, or a related field
• Proven experience in remote sensing of ecological systems
• Experience with machine learning models trained on SAR and optical satellite data
• Familiarity with ML pipelines, including model creation and data cleaning
• Understanding of explainable AI and theoretical foundations of models
