Job Summary
To support the College Division, the full-time Senior Editor for College Admissions will work remotely to engage with students in developing compelling personal narratives, edit submissions for quality and coherence, and assist in business development initiatives during the peak admissions season.
Key responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with students to brainstorm and refine personal narratives for college applications
- Edit student drafts for clarity, structure, and adherence to admissions standards, providing detailed feedback
- Assist in business development efforts, including community outreach and project management for the College Division
Required qualifications
- MFA in Creative Writing, preferably from the University of Iowa
- 2-5 years of professional writing or editing experience in a deadline-driven environment
- Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills with a mastery of grammar and narrative structure
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with proficiency in Google Workspace and collaboration tools
- A minimum of three writing samples required upon application, including one creative piece and one research-based piece
