Senior Elastic Engineer

Job Summary

To ensure the reliability and scalability of the Elastic Stack, the fully remote Senior Elastic Engineer will architect and manage the platform, focusing on high-volume security telemetry ingestion and user adoption while mentoring a small team of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and own the Elastic Stack, supporting high-volume security telemetry ingestion and detection
• Design data models and implement index lifecycle management strategies for multi-tenant security data
• Build and optimize ingestion pipelines and ensure the security and reliability of the Elastic Stack platform

Required qualifications

• 7+ years in search/data engineering or infrastructure roles, with 6+ years of hands-on Elasticsearch/Elastic Stack architecture experience
• Deep expertise in Elasticsearch internals, including sharding, replication, and cluster performance tuning
• Experience building ingestion pipelines with Logstash, Beats, or Elastic Agent, particularly with security/log data
• Comfort operating Elastic in cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Scripting/programming ability (Python, Go, or similar) for automation and tooling
