Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

To support the sustainment and modernization of avionics hardware, the remote Senior Electrical Engineer will manage obsolescence issues, develop FPGA-based replacements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product availability and airworthiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform DMSMS assessments and develop mitigation strategies for obsolete electronic components
• Design FPGA-based replacements and maintain qualified replacement Bills of Material
• Support engineering change implementation and communicate technical recommendations to stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
• 10+ years of professional experience with FPGA or embedded hardware development
• FPGA development experience using tools such as AMD/Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, or Microchip Libero
• Experience programming in VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog
• Knowledge of DO-254 and DO-160 requirements or certification activities
