Job Summary
To support the design of high-voltage substations, the full-time Senior Electrical Engineer with PE License will lead physical design efforts, create detailed layout drawings, and mentor early-career engineers while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the physical design of high-voltage substations (69 kV - 500 kV) in transmission and distribution networks
- Create layout drawings, grounding plans, and equipment drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Bentley Substation
- Mentor early-career engineers and collaborate with protection & control and civil/structural teams to ensure quality designs
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and an active PE license
- 8+ years of experience in substation physical design for utilities, EPCs, or consulting firms
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and familiarity with Bentley Substation or other design tools
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment layouts, grounding systems, and bus design
- Working understanding of relay coordination, control schemes, SCADA, and substation automation principles
