Senior Employment Counsel

Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Employment Counsel, the full-time remote position will manage employment-related legal matters, serve as a strategic advisor to the People team, and oversee employment disputes and compliance across a multistate workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal advisor on the full employment lifecycle, including hiring, performance management, and terminations
• Manage the company's employment disputes, including pre-litigation claims and internal investigations
• Provide proactive counsel on multistate employment law compliance and develop training for the People team

Required qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 8 to 10+ years of legal experience with a focus on employment law, including litigation management
• Prior in-house legal experience, preferably in a startup or high-growth technology company
• Demonstrated expertise in California employment law and experience with equity compensation
• Proven ability to advise non-legal stakeholders and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
