Senior Energy Market Analyst

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Energy Market Analyst who will link evolving grid conditions and market events to short-term price formation across trading strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor market alerts, operational notices, and real-time system behavior to anticipate impacts on pricing
• Analyze price behavior and identify emerging drivers of price shifts to refine price forecasts
• Conduct post-event diagnostics to identify root causes of pricing events and provide actionable insights

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, power systems, operations research, physics, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field
• 3+ years of experience in US electricity markets in an analytical, operational, or trading-adjacent role
• Strong understanding of power system fundamentals, including transmission topology and congestion dynamics
• Familiarity with at least one nodal market, ideally ERCOT
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or similar tools for data retrieval and analysis
