Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Staff Writer, Energy Newsletters (Contractor).

Key Responsibilities

• Cover energy and environmental policy through news stories and a daily newsletter
• Report from Congress and collaborate with other reporters while cultivating a network of sources
• Write a mix of spot news and enterprise content for multiple platforms, including the CQ Energy newsletter

Required Qualifications

• At least 4 years of daily journalism experience, preferably covering Congress or the federal government
• Experience writing about energy and environmental policy
• Ability to quickly and cleanly write under tight deadlines
• Familiarity with congressional procedures and terminology
• Proficiency in WordPress or other content management systems
