Job Summary
Supporting verification and validation activities for thermal-hydraulic analysis tools, the contract Senior Engineer, Plant Thermal Hydraulics Validations will perform simulations, interpret experimental data, and document methodologies while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct system-level steady-state and transient thermal-hydraulic simulations to evaluate model behavior and accuracy
- Define validation needs and collaborate with test engineering teams to align model gaps with experimental programs
- Document verification and validation methodologies, results, and uncertainty analyses for regulatory submissions
Required qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in system-level thermal hydraulic analysis and code assessment for nuclear or complex energy systems
- Hands-on experience with experimental thermal hydraulic data analysis and uncertainty evaluation
- Familiarity with system analysis tools such as RELAP5 3D, TRACE, or SAS applied to plant scale evaluations
- Strong foundation in thermal-fluid and reactor system behavior relevant to advanced reactor designs
