Senior Engineering Manager

Job Summary

The full-time Senior Engineering Manager will lead a high-impact team of engineers focused on building and managing the Flink Control Plane, overseeing the Flink REST API, Kubernetes operators, and ensuring multi-tenant reliability in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the roadmap and execution for the Flink Control Plane, defining strategies for job orchestration and resource management
• Lead architectural migrations and component refactors to enhance reliability, security, and scalability
• Manage and mentor a diverse engineering team, fostering growth and development towards Staff-level leadership

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with at least 5+ years in engineering management focused on cloud-native infrastructure or managed services
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems orchestration and multi-tenant resource isolation, with experience in scaling control planes for managed cloud services
• Proven track record in hiring, motivating engineers, and managing performance during technical transitions
• Mindset geared toward operational excellence and building resilient technical foundations
• Exceptional communication skills for influencing peers and management using data-driven techniques
