Senior Engineering Manager

Job Summary

The full-time remote Senior Engineering Manager will lead and mentor a globally distributed team focused on database internals, set technical roadmaps, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and mentor a team of database internals engineers, overseeing hiring, performance management, and team health
• Own team execution and establish the technical roadmap in collaboration with Product, balancing speed, quality, and maintainability
• Engage with high-value customers on escalations and technical needs, translating their experiences into team priorities

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience, with at least 4+ years in a management role
• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams in systems software development
• Strong technical depth in distributed systems or databases, with experience in C/C++ on large code bases preferred
• Solid understanding of SQL, query processing, and database engines
• Passion for developing reliable system software and mentoring engineering talent
