Senior Engineering Manager, AI

Job Summary

Leading engineering execution for the Thunderbolt initiative, the full-time Senior Engineering Manager, AI will manage a senior engineering team, engage with the codebase, and ensure the delivery of a reliable, enterprise-ready open-source AI product in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering execution by clarifying priorities, ownership, timelines, and quality expectations
• Manage engineers and contractors, providing coaching, feedback, and performance support
• Partner with technical and product leadership to develop coordinated engineering plans based on product direction and AI strategy

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of professional software development experience, including senior engineering leadership roles
• 5+ years of experience managing technical teams, including senior engineers
• Strong technical fluency with AI-enabled products and experience delivering complex applications across multiple platforms
• Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous product and technical direction into clear plans and delivery momentum
• Experience improving engineering practices related to technical planning, code review, and release readiness
